Tasha's Story

Last January, less than a week before my 35th Birthday, I found a lump. Two days later I had my first doctor appointment, then a mammogram, ultrasound and a biopsy. About a week after the initial appointment, comes the call. The call that I was sure would be the “all clear” instead was “you have breast cancer.”

After the initial shock (and several glasses of wine), it was time to get this taken care of.... I mean, I have kids to raise! My surgery was in February and radiation ended in April. They tell me I’m cancer free! I feel so very thankful that my situation was best case scenario and caught very early! My reason for sharing is not for attention rather for awareness. If this story convinces anyone to do a breast exam or get a mammogram, I succeeded!
