Flock the Yard

Pink and Black. We Fight Back!

How Flock the Yard Began

Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Foundation has been the beneficiary of Mary Leisses’ “Flock the Yard” program for many years. Mary was a very special person and breast cancer patient. When Mary was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, her friend Lori Bunkholt planted pink & black tulips in her yard and coined the phrase “Pink & Black. We fight back!” and over the years started selling pink “yard” flamingos, decorating Mary’s yard with the sold flamingos, and having a “Flock the Yard” party where the proceeds benefited Hope Chest for Breast Cancer.

In 2017, Mary's breast cancer returned, and she passed away June 2019 - leaving a huge hole in the hearts of many. Help us honor Mary through the Flock the Yard celebration of her life. Beginning October 17th you will be able to adopt a pink flamingo for $10 or more and flock the yard of the Hope Chest Resale Shop or using the form below.

We will have a “Flock the Yard” party on October 29th from 4:00 – 6:00pm at the resale shop followed by an “after party” from 6:00 – 9:00pm down the road at Back Channel Brewing. Purchase your flamingo now using the form below.
